Our new Year 7 students have been enjoying a taste of Coombe at Discovery Days this week! From board game making and tower building to sports, drama and lots more, they’ve been getting stuck into fun team-building activities, making new friends and getting to know their new school. Another milestone in our new build journey. This week, work began on demolishing our old Sports Hall, making way for the next exciting phase of our redevelopment. While it’s always strange saying goodbye to a building that’s been part of so many memories, we’re looking ahead to the incredible facilities taking shape for our students.
It might be the summer break, but our new build certainly isn’t taking one! The brand new gym equipment has arrived and is being installed in our state of the art Fitness Suite, ready to welcome students this September. Take a look… 👀
Our very first Year 7 & 8 Colour Run was a brilliant celebration of our 95th birthday, with every participant completing 950 metres in a burst of colour, energy and determination. A huge well done to everyone who took part and to the staff, prefects and PFA volunteers who helped make the event such a success. There’s still time to support our runners. On Wednesday, our Year 7 EPQ boys took centre stage as they presented their projects to an audience of proud friends and families. After a term of research, planning and exploring topics they were passionate about, the boys confidently shared their findings, answered questions and showcased the curiosity, creativity and independence that make the EPQ such a valuable experience. A huge well done to all of our presenters for their hard work, courage and commitment. We are incredibly proud of the way they embraced the challenge and demonstrated our values of Excellence, Ambition and Integrity.
